ALLEGED FIRE-RAISING.

| CHARGE AGAINST A YOUTH. (press association telegram.) INVERCARGILL, January 6. Recently several fires have occurred in unoccupied houses in.' circumstances suggesting incendiarism. On Saturday ' William Xiawrcnco, a youth employed as a messenger by tho brigade, was arrested on a charge of setting fire to a house jn Don street. The police stated that accused had admitted his guilt in. connexion with six fires. He was remanded till January 9th.
