RACING AND TROTTING NOTES. (By "liookeb-On.") Riccarton-trained horses that have been racing in Southland during the holidays will arrive home to-night. Nominations for tho Doncaeter Handicap and Sydney Cup, to be run at the Australian Jockey Club's Autumn Meeting, clo&o to-day. The Southland trainer, H. Coker, arrived at, Riccarton on Saturday evening, and, on behalf of Mr W. Stone, took delivery of "Wild Night yesterday. Coker leaves for Invercargill with his new charge this morning, und will race him at the Wairio Mooting next week. During their trip south at the 'io!id.iy meetings, Subterfuge, Bon Spec, and Pyjama won £771 in stakes. Biplane was allowed to run along over half a mile on the plough at Riccarton on Saturday, and though very backward, showed that he has not lost any of his old brilliancy, by easily registering the best time of the morning for that distance. Sir Geo. Clifford's horses that were raced at tho Auckland Summer Meeting arrived at Wellington on Sunday last. Those of them that are to race at the Wellington Summer Meeting will stop at Trentham until after the Meeting, while the rest will be sent on home. M. Hobbs will leave for Trentham towards the end of next week. As yet he haa not decided which horses will go. (B* ' 'Searchlight.' ') The Forbury Park Trotting Club. wil] take nominations for its. Summer Meeting, and acceptances for the New Zealand Trotting Stakes at 5 p.m. to-morrow. The Nelson and Marlborough _ Trotting Cluba will tako nominations for their Annual Meetings on Thursday and Friday respectively. Mr W. Kerr has decided to dispose of his select collection of brood mares and young trotting stock, and retire from the light harness eport, which has occupied his attention for many years past. The Southland-owned pacer Black Yet has joined A. Fleming's stable, and is likely to form one of the Riccarton trainer's team to visit Wellington. • Ihiring R. Allan's absenoe on the West Coast Will, o' the Wisp is sheltered in A. Cox's stable. Anlongat those that are due .to , return ' | shortly from the front is Corporal H. E. Goggin, who, prior to leaving friew Zealand, was. associated with the looal trotting clubs'. Corporal Goggin was very popular with all those he came in contact with, and his numerous friends will be pleased to welcome him home again. FEILDING JOCKEY CLUB. (PRESS ASSOCIATION TBLBQKAM.J FEILDING, January 6. The following re-handicaps have been declared for the Feilding races to be held on Saturday:—Hurdle Handicap—-Whiro 10; First Line 97. Flying Handicap—Nyetad 01; Jean Laddo 75. Apiti Hack Handicap—Trombone 7 12; Idle Talk 7 12; Sonnino 9 7. Manchester Handicap—Henry Clay 81; Classification 71. Cheltenham Hack I Handicap—ldle Talk 8 1; Trombone 7 13; Zabism 7 6. The following have been scratched for all engagements:-—Nobleman, Sardinia, Cheer Up, Referee, Genskus, Wapping, Once More, and White Blare.
