Brown, and C. liidley. villi five wins «ac&, Macmur.nwiiv winning on the highest aggrogate of points. I'. M. Brown won the leads' prize with five wins. Afternoon tea was provided by Mra W. Brown. KANGIORA CLUB. A progressive doubles tournament was played yesterday, 20 players taking part. J. A. Angus (Ashburton) and C. I. J»nmnp, < wir.s each tied, lor the skips' prize and m tho play off Angus won. J. McKenzio won. the loads' prize with five wins. The pri»M were given by Messrs H. A. Archdall and W. A. Banks. CANTERBURY CLUB. Progressive doubles were played yectfildlY, 5G pkycre taking part. The games -wew played in two sections—throe games of J_o j | heads cach and *iliree of 11. In eection A P. i .T Ecclcton (Lcealon) won five, and wooaiiian, Halliburton, Davits, and Kilner «Mh, .four games, end for the leads Coe won five, 'and Manttan, Yager, and Kellaway. each won four. In section B Marker and 'Finnegm 1 each won five, and Haworth olid DamfrU {our. Finucgan having tho highest- .aggregate in the first two games, wan declared the winner of tbnt eection. For the leads Mipty, Banfield, and O. C. Smith had four wins each, but liinty gained pride of place oy having the highest aggregate. Minty and Finnegan played Coc and Eccleton 11 heads for first and second prizes. The former won by one point after a tie on the eleventh head.
