(PBESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) TVELLINGIX)N, January 1. Alfred Erickson, a single man, aged 49, employed at Ancell's flax mill, Featherston, went in for a swim at Day's Bay at 4 o'clock this morning, and died in the water. He had suffered from heart trouble,. A tram car ran off the line opposite the Newtown Library this evening. It crossed the road and footpath, and broke through a fence. The car was crowded with people returning from the Bays. One passenger,-Emily Lewis, of Hataitai, went into a faint, and several "hours later had not regained consciousness.
