WAIPARA HOSPITAL.
XO THE EDITOR OF "THE PBEBS." Sir, —There has been a lot of your space taken np lately on the above question, and as far as I can see very, little good has been done by either side. Now, what I maintain is this: If this hospital scheme is such a good thing as the Waikari people try to make us believe, why don't they build the hospital themselves instead of making it a county question at allP But no, of course not. You see, there are a few pounds to the credit of the Waipara County Council (not the Waikari County Council), which the Waikari people aro determined to have spent in their own little locality, regardless as to whether it is going to be a benefit <o the rest of the county or not. If the Waipara County Council had don© ts duty in the first place, and taken a poll of the whole of the ratepayers of the
county, they would have found that the hospital question would have been turned down as decisively as was .Mr H. Holland at the last county election. —Yours, etc., GLENMARK.
