ACTING-MINISTEiVS STATEMENT. (PBES9 ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) WELLINGTON July 17. A statement made by the Hon. A. M. Myers, Acting-Minister of Finance, shows that tlie revenue for the year ended Juno 30th was as compared with £18,2(53,172 tor 1917, an increase of £2,559,299. The revenue for the quarter ended June, 1918, was £3,603,0 at, compared with £2,9c/6,835 for the same period of 1917, an increase of £610,249. Tho expenditure for the quarter ended June, 1918, was £4,053,705, and for the 1917 quarter £3,255,912, an increase of £797,793. This is due to the additional pensions and the fact that interest and sinking fund charges are growing heavier as now levies are raised.
