FRENCH LEADERS' UTTERANCES. (By Cable. —Press Association.—Copyright.) (Australian and N. 2. Cable Association.) PARIS, July 15. M. Poincar6, President of France, in a Bastille Day message to the American forces, says:— "For tour years the gallant British, French, and Belgian armies have been fighting upon tho wasted soil ol France and Belgium for right and freedom. Th© splendid. American army now oomes to assume a great part in the gigantio struggle. We have the same aims, and the same resolution to pursue the war with our best strength until common victory frees tho world from German domination. United and determined, we will attain o»fr end, and soon celebrate together .the deliverance of nations and reparation for violated rights." Marshal JofFre's message states: —
"We all feel the approach of the | moment when the defeat of Germany j will allow all free nations to celebrate the independence of tho world." It is significant that both messages' contain phrases indicating that, early victory is expected. The outstanding feature of the national fete was that M. Poincar€ and the Ambassadors named a number of the leading thoroughfares after the heads of the Allied States. George V. avenue is a majestic street from the Alma bridgfe tyo the Champs D'Elysees. i
