TURKISH ATTACK FAILS. (By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright.) (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) LONDON, July 15. Turkish troops attacked the Jordan crossings .north of Jericho, and the British counter-attacked successfully, taking bvjO Turks. The Australians and New Zealandcrs restored the Palestine positions. 400 PRISONERS TAKEN. The High Commissioner reports: — LONDON, .July 15 (5 p.m.). A Palestine official report says: — "On the Abu Tellul ridges, northwards of Jericho, the enemy attacked, and at first penetrated our lines. "The Australians and New Zealandcrs counter-attacked and restored the position, taking 400 prisoners, of whom 160 were Germans."
