Mr Ward Price states that the attempt at. a converging attack on the Italian positions at Monto Corrone was the first sign of a revived Austrian enterprise, but it ended in failure. Cable Association.) ROME, July 13. A decree has boen published placing General Cadorna on tlio retired list without rank or pay; also General Porro. ex-Chief or Staff, and General Capello, of tho Secbnd Army. ROME, July 14. General Cadorna's dismissal followed a searching enquiry into tho debacle of last October, when the Germans broke through Caporeto, for which Generals Cadorna, Perro, and Capello were held responsible. General Gadorna's suggested appointment to the Versailles Council was withdrawn. It is understood that tho enquiry found that General Cadorna did not put forth the utmost staunchness against the Austrians, and it is suggested that his staff wero under Austrian clerical influence.
