SHIPPING NOTES,
The bcow Zingara will leave Wellington at the end of this week with white pine lor Sy Mr°C. McVicax, engineer in the Mararoa, who has been on sick leave, has rejoined tho vessel, relieving Mr Aitcheson. Mr John Dudor, cluef officer of tho Pohoma, haa passed his examination for a foreign-going 1 master's certificate. The Waipori called here on Saturday with general cargo from Wellington, and called again in the evening for Dunodin. The Wakotu, circumatanoea permitting, will leave Lyttelton this evening for Kaikoura and Wellington. _ .. Laden with general oaigo from Greymoatß, the Orepuki reached this port yesterday. She Bails again for the West Coast 10-morrow. The Storm went into dock ftfc Lyttelton on Saturday for cleaning and paintings She is timed to sail this evening for Dunedin. THE WIMMERA ENQUIRY. The public enquiry into the loss of the Wimmera is to be held at Auckland, and Captain Fleming (Superintendent of Mercantile Marino at that port) has been instructed by the Marino Department to make the neoeesary arrangementa.
NAVUA SHORT OF COAL. (peess association telegeam.) NAPIER, July 13. The Nam, bound from Son Francisco to Wellington, put in here this morning, short of coal. SCOW DAMAGED. • (PRESS ASSOCIATION TET.ECRAM.) AUCKLAND, July JL3. Richardson and. Company's steamer Mako and the scow Seagull collided in the harbour last night. The Seagull was damaged and filled with water, but being loaded with timber did not sink. The Mako apparently was undamaged. j COLLISION IN HARBOUR. (PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) . NAPIER, July 15. The trawler Weka ran into and damaged Richardson and Co.'s steamer Tangaroa, moored to the wharf in the inner harbour, a hole being ripped in the Tangaroa. A fire engine was used to pump the water out and keep the vessel afloat. The damago is estimated at £500. ' /
