LABOUR PARTY
ORGANISATION SCHEME ADOPTED. (PBKSS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) WELLINGTON, July 9. The conference of the Now Zealand Labour Party adopted a scheme of organisation submitted by a special committee. It provides that the several Labour Representation Committees shall bo given organising jurisdiction over certain electorates, and that a National Organising Committee be set up to consist of the national president, national secretary, and the Labour members of Parliament. The National Executive shall compilo and issu© to Labour Representation Committees and branches literature bearing upon Labour's principles.
The following Auckland remit was adopted:—"That the Labour Representation Committee shall be a local governing body, subject to the veto of the National Executive, in which case it shall have tho right of appeal to tho annual conference. It shall be the duty of the Labour Representation Committee to control all organising wovk coming within its jurisdiction, the nomination and selection of all candidates for election to public bodies. It shall bo the duty of tne L.R.C. (within its own jurisdiction) to decide as to which electorate or public bodies 6hall ba contested in the interest of Labour, and take full charge of nominations a n<l selections of all candidates for such positions."
