THE LATE MR G. W. HORSLEY.
The funeral of the late Mr G. W. Horsley took place yesterday at the Avonside cemetery, the burial service being conducted by the Rev. Otho Fitzgerald. There was a large gathering of friends of the deceased, ana members of the Christchurch Savage Club, of which Mr Horsley was a prominent member, carried the coffin from Mr T. N. Horsley's house to the grave. At the gravesido members of the club, led by Messrs H. and J?. W. Hobbs, sang "The Evening Hymn," composed bv the late Mr Horsley. Among those present wore: —Mr W. J. Hunter (president of the Savage Club), Mr F. C. Raphael (secretary), Messrs Farquhar Young, G. M. Hall, J. Marsh, J. W. Campbell, E. R. Webb, E. Cuthbert, E. J. Ross, H. W. 'Bishop, G. Scott, T. W. Reeso, J. Ballantyne, J. Brightling. and the Hon. H. F. Wigram. A largo number of tho members of the United Bowling Club, including Mr W. F. Soper (president) and Mr W. F. Brown (secretary), as well as employees of the Farnley Brick Works, were also present. Many beautiful floral emblems were sent as tributes of respect and esteem, including wreaths from the following:—Tho Hon. H. F. Wigram, Canterbury Seed Company, Mr and Mrs Annesley Bishop, Messrs Reese Bros., the Christchurch musical Socioty, Messr g Scott Bros., the United Bowling Club, M.- and Mrs J. G. Simpson, the Homebush Coal Company, the employees of the Farnley Brick Works, and the Christchurch Savage Club.
