MASTER BAKERS' UNION.
ANNUAL MEETING. At tho 17th annual general meeting of the Canterbury Master Bakers' Union, Mr C. E. Boon presided over a moderate attendance.
Tho chairman, in moving the adoption of the report and balance-sheet, congratu atod members on the satisfactory financial position. there being a. credit balance of' £22 13a lid, and - no liabilities. Four new members liad been added to tho roll during the year. A great amount of useful scrvice had beon rendered to the trado in general by the executive.
The following were elected:—President, Mr C. E. Boon; vice-president, Mr H. Bruoe; deputy-chairman, Mr ,J._ iNoave; secretary and treasurer, Mr J. Evans; working committed, (bread bakers) Messrs Boon, Cook, Neavo, Hawker, F. G. Norton, (pastrycooks) Mewta Broadway, Bruce. J. T. Norton, Sincock. After the business, d complimentary social was tendered to Mr L. P. Ebert, who Is retiring from tho trade.
_ Mr J. Kenve, who has been associated with Mr Ebert on the executive for many years, referred in eulogistic terms to the service* Mr Ebort had rendered to the Union and the trade in general, and, on behalf of the Union, presented him with a memento in the shape of a neatly-lined purse.' ' Several other members endorsed Mr Neaves remarks, and all present wished Mr '•kbert and his family good luck in the future. Refreshments were partaken of. and a number of rntisieal items given.
