HOCKEY.
CANTERBURY ASSOCIATION. The Management Committee of tbo Canterbury Hockey Association met on VVftdriefi. dav Mr W. Simpson presiding. Tho Otaxo Hockey Association wrote suggesting July 27th as a BuiiabLe date to pLay match in Dunedin, and the suKucation waa accepted. . The Auckland Hockey Association wrote in reference to a team vieitmg Christchurch early in August, and asking for a grant towards exfN*nß©s« . , It was decided to grant 50 per cent, of tho net profits of a match, with a minimum. o .' £10 towards players' expenses, and to inform the Auckland Association that fHayers would be billeted in Christchurch, and suggesting that the match be played on August Br Ma*ra W. Simpson and H. Rogers w»re appointed a sub-committee to wait on the Domain Board in conjunction with the Canterbury District Cricket Association in connexion with improving the grounds at Hagwas decided to circularise the clnbe asking for support for the insurance scheme. Tho Competitions Committee reported that Sydenham had won the second grade competition, and Christchurch the thud grade, and that fresh competitions had been started in those grades. The report was adopted.
