OBITUARY.
MR WILLIAM WARREN. (By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright.) SYDNEY, July 2. The death is announced of Mr William Warren, formerly manager for Australasia of the Eastern Extension Telegraph Company. Mr Thomas Philson, eldest son of tie late Dr. Philson, of Auckland, .died on Monday. He was formerly connected with the Bank of New Zealand, and was manager of several branches of the bank. He retired from business some years ago. For many years Mr Thomas Philson was an active member of the Auckland Choral Society orchestra. He leaves one daughter, three sons, the latter all being on active service. One son was killed at Gallipoli. The late Mr Philson was 70 years of age at the time of his death. The death is announced of Mr William Baxter, a gentleman who came with his parents and family to .Auckland more than half a century ago, and had lived there ever since. During his life in Auckland he had been active in musical circles, and had been choirmaster of Sacred Heart and St. Benedict's, also organist at the Newton Congregational Church. He leaves three sons, all of whom are at the war.
