RECHE AND KINDERG ARTEN ASSOCIATION.
I At the monthly mce-tin? of tho Creche and Kindergarten Association Mrs Taylor presided. The president reported that sh-a had recently retained from a visit to Wellington, -where she had called on the- Education Department and discussed the plans of tho proposed new kindergarten school at Phillipstown. Tho Department had approved the plans, making one slight alteration in favour of more space. It would now be necessary to continue the work, and a meeting of the Advisory Board and Building Committee would be called shortly. The secretary gave a ; short account of her visit to the Jlontessori School in Wanganui. Mrs McCaualand reported that a sale of work held at Phillipstown had realised i'lo IGs, aud Mrs Wilson eaid the jumble sale held in Sydenham had produced £25. lira Taylor reported that the addresses on social hygiene by Xurse Cbappell to the mothers at the three kindergarten schools had beeii exceedingly eatisfactory, and it was gratifying to learn that Mies Hull had been asked by -the mothers to form reading circle®.. Ths circlcs would be in charge of liiss Hull and Mise A. Croeby. Several members reported on arrangements for the forthcoming jumble sale to be held in St. Johu'e schoolroom, I/atimcr e<juaia.
