Alfred Storrie, who pleaded guilty to a charge of wilful indeoerit exposure, had been before the Court on three or four previous occasions, charged with similar offences. He was sentenced to 12 months' imprisonment, to be followed by two years' reformative treatment. REMANDED. William Uren (Mr Cassidy), charged with the theft of a cheque, valued at £2 12s Bd, was remanded until Friday. JUDGMENT SUMMONSES. Arthur Groves Wilson (Mr Ivinclaid) claimed from James Burns £22 lis, costs due to him as the result of a ' divorce ease. No order was made. F. D. Kesteven (Mr Thomas) proceeded against G. D. Gowie (Mr Raphael) in respect of two debts, one amounting to £6 9s 6d, and the other to £11 6s. The case had been partly heard previously, and adjourned. Mr Thomas submitted the debtor to a searching cross-examination, during which it was disclosed that ho had been possessed of considerable assets, of which he had made no mention at; the first hearing of the case, a fact which I drew forth strong comment from counsel. Orders were made for the payment of the first-mentioned debt within 28 days, in default six days' imprisonment, and of the other within 14 days, in default 11 days' imprisonment. Edward Jennings, medical practitioner, claimed from F. H. Patterson payment of a debt amounting to £5 18s 6d. After hearing debtor's evidence, the Magistrate ordered him to pay off the amount due at the rate of .'2os per month. "I am satisfied that you don't get justice done here." exclaimed the debtor, as he walked from the witnessbox. The Magistrate instantly summoned the man back, and sharply loprimanded him for the utterance, saying that he had a "good mind to make a peremptory order."
