EAGLEY CLUB. The annual meeting of the Hagley Golf Club was hold vcsierday uternoon. Mr E. J. Kosa was voted to the chair. lhere was a moderate attendance. The annual report stated that owing to tho conditions prevailing ou account ot , the war, the season, so tar as th© club was concerned, hud been a quiet one, no i-uteids matches being played, although, most of the usual club competitions were continued. 1 lie Laaies' Championship had been, by decision 01 the .Ladies' Committee, abandoned lor the year, but it w-as hoped it might bo played again in the coming season. Tne Bean Challenge Cups wcro won by Miss -Morton (souion and Airs V. Kislier 1 , and the L.G.XT. medal by Mrs C. Smith. The Lewis's Qleek for mixed foursomes v.'us won by Mrs Mill lon and E. J. lioss The Ladua' Ked Cross matches lor the year resulted in i' 7 13s being handed to the fund, the men's matches for the Bailey prize bringing in £3 lis, ,'.nd Mrs Macfajrlane's putting jjrizes £2 2s. Donations amounting 1 to £i" 13s wero given to the Hanmer Soldiers' Club Sports l'und. By arrangement with the Christchurch Golf Club, the services of W. lies were obtained on two half-days per week. As would be seen from the statement of accounts, the club's affairs were in » satisfactory ou!■edition, but as there were several special iUms of expenditure which the committee would have to undertake this year, and 116 tho revenue was likely to bo smaller during the coming season, the balance at< credit cculd not bo considered more than was necessary for carrying on. The usual Jiccnso had been taken out from tho Domain Board, and the Board's permission to prepare the course obtained. Tho preparation had taken longer than usual, owing to the exceptional growth of grass during the offseason, but it was hoped that tho courso would be ready for practice by Easter. The balance-sheet showed an. income of £323 19s 2d, and an expenditure of £211 193 Sd, leaving a balance of £111 19s 3d. The balance of assots over liabilities was set down at. £361 14a 9d-

It wa3 left to the committee to fix tho date for the opening of play. •
