RHODE ISLAND RED CLUB.
„Tho monthly meeting of the Rhode Island .Rod Club was held on Thursday, Mr H. Hunter presiding over a pood attendance. Tho chief business of the evening was a demonstration and a small tablo show for cockerels o£ the breed. Several birds were on view, and were handled by ilr Cooper (president of the club). A silver epoon given by one of the vice-presidents for tho best bird, was won by Mr Hunter, Mr Gott being" 2nd, and Mr Harper 3rd. A letter was read from a Dunedin member saying -that there was likely to be a good show of reds at tho forthcoming Dunedin Show, and the members therefore, through the club, subscribed one guinea for epeciSs to be allocated as follows: 10s 6d for best Rhode Island Red in the open classes, and IDs Gd for the best Rhode Island Red in utility classes, opon to members of the Rhode Island Red Clnb only. Three new members were elected. At the next meeting a further table show will be held for pullets, and Mr Tritt will adjudicate.
