MAGISTRATE'S COURT. At the Magistrate's Court yesterday, before Mr W. T. Lester, J.P., a first offender for drunkenness and disorderly behaviour wa* fined £1. Before Messrs F. W. Anderson and "W. Cleary, J.P.'a, Jolm O'Neill, a seaman engaged on an occan-going vessel, was charged with the theft of a gallon of paint, tho property of the shipowners. Accused pleaded not- guilty. After hearing evidence by Mr E. Sojlett, Customs official, the ship's boat«wain, and Detective A. Quartormain, acoused was convicted and fined j£l and costs. HARBOUR LIGHT PICTURES. The drama "Big Timber" was repeated at tho Harbour Light Picture Theatre last evening. There will bo a change of programme to-day, when a sensational film, entitled "The Pago Mystery," supported by tho Keystone comedy, "The College Girl," and others, will be screened. The management is in receipt of a letter of thanks from the Lyttalton District High School Committee for providing an entertainment from which half the proceeds wore given to the headmaster to purchase prizes for tho school. PORT LEVY REGATTA. Tho regatta to bo held at Port Levy on E aft or Monday, if favoured with fino weethor, promises to eclipse all previous aqua-ticjcarni-vals that have taken place in that locality. This annual fisture ij becoming increasingly popular, over 600 people having attended last year. In sedition to yacht, motor-boat, and rowing races, a varied programme of sports has boen arranged, one of tho most popular events in which should be -the greasy pic hunt, a "Captain Cook" having been' procured for the occasion. Visitors to tho port will be g.vc'n a true Maori welcome. In tho evening the Maori residents of Port Levy and Rapaki will give a concert in a largo nißrquee. The total proceeds are to be equally divided between the Bed Cross Fnod ajtd tho Lady Liverpool Trench Comforts Fund.
