The Mahiroa was delayed on Thursday night on her voyage from Wellington by a stiff southerly wind and heavy seas, arriving at Lyttelton about an hour later tflan usual. Captain H. F.' Tomlinson, surveyor of ships at Dunedin, who, owing to the shortage of foreign-going masters, was granted loave ot abeenoe and lent to the owners of an oversea sailing veeeel for an intercolonial voyage,- has returned to Dunedin and resumed his duties in tho Marine Department.

At the annual meeting of the Timara oj.arbour Board, held to-day, it was reported tha.t, notwithstanding the falling oif in trade through the war, the Board's revenue for tho year amounted to £28,000, and the expenditure, waa only £426 in excess of this. J.he balance-sheet showed that the x>oard waa in a very strong financial position and the chairman (Mr F. J. Rolleston) said there would be no need for any increese in the rate or in port charges this year. EASTER HOLIDAY TRAFFIC. WELLINGTON-LYTTELTON SERVICE. Th* Union Company advise as follows retarding the running of steamers in the Wel-lington-Lyttelton ferry service during the Easter holidays:— The Monowai will leave Wellington on Tuesday night, March 26tL, and again on Thursday night, March 28th, for Lyttelton. in addition to the Mararoa. ahe Monowai will remain at Lyttelton until Monday, April Ist, and will sail on that day for "Wellington, and will sail again for Lyttelton on Tuesday, April 2nd. If it should be necessary, the Monowai will leave Lyttelton on "Wednesday night, April 3rd, for Wellington, tor tbo information of intending passengers from Dunedin for the north, it may be mentioned that the Monowai will not come to this port for about another three weeks. , On Thursday, March 28th, Saturday, March 30th, and Tuesday, April 2nd, the Maori will wait the arrival at Lyttelton of the 7.45 p.m. train from Christchurch (second expiree from Dunedin). On Wednesday, March 27th, and Wednesday, 'April 3rd, the Mararoa will wait the arrival at Lyttelton of the first express from Dunedin, which will leave Christchurch on those days at 5.68 p.m. The times of sailing of the Maori and Mararoa from Lyttelton cm other days will be as usual.
