MOTOR CAR AND TRAIN.

' (PRESS ASSOCIATION' TELEGRAM.) TAUMARUNUI, March 21. A sensational collision between a train and a motor-car occurred on the bridgo at midday. A new car, driven by W. Thornton, for W. H. Signal, taxi proprietor, had just started to cross the bridge when a train going north met jt. The driver had the presence of mind to jump clear and escape, with bruises, but the car was smashed to atoms. The Matapuna bridce is used for railway and ordinary traffic, under special regulations.
