BAND CONCERT. The LyHelton Marine Band will play its ninth, municipal concert on the Lyttelton band rotunda to-night. The programmo is as follows March, . "Brilliant"waltz, "Bridal Hose"; overture,. "A Day with the Huntsmen"; gavotte, "Tho Way to • tho Heart"; match, "The President"; round dance, "Amelia"; selection, "Scenes of Beauty"; two-step, "Cut and Shuffle." Among the soldiers who returned from tho iront yesterday was Bandsman George Burnip, who will again take his place in the Marino Band. MAGISTRATE'S COURT. At the Magistrate's Court yesterday morning, before Messrs W. Cleary and C. Ferrier, J.P.'s, two first offenders _ for drunkenness were convicted, one being discharged and tHe other fined ss. Charley AndcTson, Halmar Anderson, and William Fickley. three seamen, were charged with absenting themselves without leave Jrcrln their vessel. They wero each fined two days'' pay. Fickley was further charged with disobeying the lawful commands of the vessel's master and with using obscene' language. On the former charge he was convicted and fined £1, in default two dpys' imprisonment, the charge of using obscene language; being dismissed. THE PICTURES. drama "God's Law and Man's Law, "Starring Viola Dana, was repeated last evening at the Harbour, Light Picturo Theatre. "Big Timber," an exciting picturo of North Amcrica, will bo screened to-day. In this picture Kathleen Williams and Wallace Reid play the leading roles.
