• FIXAD MEETING OK EXECUTIVE. • The final meetin? of the executive ofth« Eed Cross Motor Carnival was held lant evoning, Mr P. R. CJimio presiding. A statement of rtooipls and expenditure pro son tod showed receipts X - ; 258 Sd, expenditure £<101 156 sd, leaving a credit balance of £856 5s -id, subjcct to deductions 'oi grants, etc.| voted, and on© or two outstanding accounts. • A deputation, consisting of the chairman and Mr A. McKelhr was appointed to interview tho Minister of Internal Affairs to try to seouro a rebate of the amusement tax in connexion with tho Carnival. A bonus of £50 was" voted to the secretary Mr H. J: Knight. _ . A sum of £25 was votod to Mrs Whitehead, whose husband met with a serious accident whilst competing at the Carnival. A sum of £5 5b was voted to St. John Ambulance for their attendance at the Carnival. . Votes of thanks were accorded various persons and organisations who assisted with the Carnival. _ ' During the evening the chairman presented to Mr I''. Haworth the gold medal won by him as a member of the South Island winning team in the Inter-Island Relay Kaccand Mr A. S. Clarkson presented the chairman with a silver 6alver and trophy won by him in the acceleration Tace.
