NATIONAL EFFICIENCY.
EDUCATION ENQUIRY. Upon the invitation of the Canterbury Commissioner on tbe National Efficiency Board (Mr J. A. Frostick), a meeting was held at tho Board's rooms last night to discuss, informally, questions arising out of the enquiry, to be openod nest Tuesday, respecting national education as applied to professions, trades, and industries. The object of the meeting was that the Commissioner might become possessed of as much information as possible from various points of view, prior to evidenco being taken. The meeting was attended by members of the Professions and Commerce Committee of Advice, Trades and Distribution Committee of Advice, Council of Industries, Board of Governors of the Technical College, the Arts and Crafts sub-Committee, and representatives of private schools. In connexion -with the enquiry an endeavour is being mado that witnesses giving _ evidence on each particular section will do so at tho same time. Thus, all evidence on tho theoretical aspect of the subject will be given, if possible, at one sitting, and so with the other sections into which the enquiry naturally divides itself.
