BECKENHAM SCHOOL.
ANNUAL PICNIC. Ti;u annual picnic in connexion with the Beckenhum School' was hold in Beckenliam Park on Saturday, when there was a large attendance of children and parents, A programing of eports vriis carried out "under tho supervision of Mx Maxwell, and a host of willing helpers. During the afternoon Mr McAli&ter (in the absence of Mr W W. Charters, chairman) introduced to the assembly. Dr. Thacker, M.P.. »Leo Mr Jamieson and Mi* Peverill (members of tho Board of Education), who briefly addressed the children and parents. Much excitement waa expressed by the children ana parents when the first cry of "Aeroplane came from one of tlio company. Much to tho delight of one and all, Mr Hill flow close to tho grounds, and gave one of his intrepid exhibitions of flying, which was seen to perfection. The proceedings were enlivened by music from the bagpipes, played by Mr Milne and Mr Taylor.
