LYTTELTON LICENSING DISTRICT.

ELECTION OF COMMITTEE. A poll was taken yesterday for the election ol' members of the Licensing Comir tee of tho Lyttclton Licensing District. The hotels and other business premises in the port were clcscd from midday. Very little interest ivus taken in the election, there being a thousand fewer votes recorded than at the previous election three years ago. Only about 500 of the 7000 voters on the roll went to the poll. The following wero elected: —Messrs 11. Orton Bradley "W. S. Mitchell., F. G. Norton, J. Richardson, and F. Knight.
