"Word has been received by- Mr N. Meltzer, of Pollen street, Ponsonby, Auckland, that his son, Privato Isidor | Meltzer, N.Z.M.C., has been severely gassed, and is. now in a French hospital. Previous to his joining the forces Private Meltzer was employed as secretary to Messrs M. 0. Bennett, Ltd., of Newton. Ho took a prominent part in the activities of the. University College Commerce Students Society, and was twice awarded first honours in New Zealand in his professional examinations. Private Meltzer is one of four brothers who voluntarily joined the forces. Private. Joseph Meltzer left with the 9th Reinforcements) and saw servico in Egypt and France, and is now in hospital in England. Private Hyman Meltzer left with tho 16th Reinforcements, and is now in England,, recovering from miuries to his feet received on service. Private Sam Meltzer joined the forces on becoming eligible, and is now m training at Featherston.
