Sir Douglas Ilaig reports: — • We dropped GOO bombs on dumps, billots, and aerodromes; also ou an important railway centre north-east of St. Quentin. "A largo number of machines carried out a particularly successful attack, at a low height, on three aerodromes, directly hitting hangars and machines in the open at each aerodrome. Returning at a height of 100 feet, they used machino-guns on favourable ground targets, causing casualties and scattering a company of infantry in all directions "Air fighting is heavy. We brought down 10 enemy machines, and drovo down 10 others. Two of ours are missing. "Wo dropped 1} tons of bombs today on tlu* Daimler motor works at Stuttgart, in broad daylight. Several bursts were observed at the railway station, where a stationary train was set on fire. Three bursts were observed in a munition factory in the south-cast portion of the town, and there were other bursts at the Daimlor works. The defending hostile machines withdrew, after weakly attempting to attack our formation. "One of our machines has not returned owing to engine trouble."
