( The Union Company's steamex Rosamond is expected., to leave Wellington to-night with, transhipments for Lytteltoii. She leaves on* Thursday on a return trip North. The Livercargill, which arrived here on Sunday from the North, left last night on her return. SAFETY OF THE ROSAMOND. (PEESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) WELLINGTON. March 11. The steamer Rosamond, regarding which anxiety was felt locally, reached Wellington about 6 pan." on Saturday after a week's voyage from Auckland. She had a very rough tiip, but suffered no serious damage.

Private advice received from Wellington indicates that th© vessel wrecked on th© East Coast carried benzine consigned to Messrs Bannatyne and Co., of Wellington. THE STEAMER HULA. MISHAP TO BOILER OFF TIMARU. (PBESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) TIMARU, March 11. Th© coastal steamer Huia, bound, from Wellington to Dunedin, had trouble with her boilers fifty miles off Timaru. A boat landed the chief officer at Pareora last night. Word was brought to Timaru, and the Kittawa went out to the Huia's assistance. Temporary repairs enabled, the Huia to reach Timaru early this morning. The Kittawa missed the Huia, and after a search lasting all day, returned here tonight.
