St. Matthew's Church, Si. Albans, was the scene ol' a quiet wedding on Saturday morning, Miss Florence Tbbotson, daughter of the late Mr T. 11. Jbbotson, ei Southland, being married to Lieutenant 'I. J. Rowlr-y, A.Z. Dental Corps.. Feathorston Military Camp. Only jioar relatives were present ;:t the ceremony, which was performed by the vicar, the Rev. A. Hore. Three ofthc bride's brothers have been members of the New Zealand Expeditionary Force, one having made the supremo sacrifice. Dr. Rowley will return to camp almost immediately, and Mrs Rowley will accompany him to Feathorstoii, where she will roniaiu for some time.

Hayward. were in primrose georgette frocks with a wido teinture of b'.uo which matched their hydrangea Louqllot,s, and their wide hats v.v; e of black velvet. Tho best man was Lieutenant Doughty, and the groomsman Lieutenant Jones, both of whom belonged to the bridegroom's unit, tho latter having recently returned to New Zealand after having been three years on active service. A pretty wedding was cclebratrd in the Presbyterian -Manse, Hastings, last week, by I'ev. P. Ramsay, who united in the bonds _ of matrimony Miss Gladys Luna v \Vatwm, daughter of -Mr and Mrs W. M. Watson, of Hastings, and Mr Angus Macdonald, of Stonioivay, Ness, Scotland. The bride was given au'av by her father, and was attended by Miss-Ruth-Watson and Miss Daisy Taggart as bridesmaids. Mr j Donald Mackay was bast man.
ART SOCIETY'S EXHIBITION. The programme at tho Art Society's Exhibition on ("Saturday night was arranged by Miss Muriel Little, and was a thoroughly cnjoyablo one. Miss Little herself sang Ariosa (Delibes), whilo Miss* Ray Livingstone's numbers were "Blow, thou Winter Wind" (Qniltor) and "To Music" (Schumann). Miss Lena. Yelvin tang "Sing, Nightingale, Sing"' _ and Tchaikowsky's "At the Dance,and Miss Stella Murray Handel's "Where'er You Walk," while Mr Cropp gave a fine interpretation of "The Rebel" (Wallace). Miss Doris Webb played Schumann's "Whims" brilliantly. MrsEhvorthy and Miss Elworthy were in charge of the supper arrangements, assisted by a number of pretty girls in the costume of Red Cross nurses.
TO-DAY'S RECIPE. Tomato Saucc without Vinegar.— Wipe, clean, and cut up 251b tomatoes, 41b onions, and 4oz garlic. Put into a preserving pan and boil for two 'hours, men strain through a colander. Return the pulp to the preserving pan and add lib sugar, Jib salt, 2oz inound ginger, 1J drams cayenne. Boil for two hours, then add J dram of oil of cloves, Joji spirits of wine, ooz acetic acid. Stir well together, and remove from the fire at once.
