MAGISTRATE'S COURT. At the Magistrate's Court yesterday morning, before Mr W. T. Lester and Captain R. Hatch well, J.P.'s, George Lowe, who was charged, with drunkenness and disorderly behaviour in Oxford street, was convicted and discharged. GOLF CLUB. The Lyttelton Golf Club will hold its opening day at Charteris Bay on Saturday, when the usual competitions—driving, approaching, and putting—will take place. Launches will make several tripe to tho bay, and given favourable weather, a good attendance is anticipated. Ipsen, formerly master of tho Eunice and the Eliza Firth, has taken command of tho schooner Lily, which was recently bought from Mr C. E. Cook, of Lyttelton, by Messrs A. P. Watson and White, of Christchurch, and S. Sinclair, of Lyttelton, and which for many years has sailed under tho ohargo of Captain A. Bloom, who will engage in work on tho waterfront. The Lily will leave Lyttelton with a load of produce for Kaipaia shortly, having now obtained her full complement, after having been laid up at this port for a considerable" time owinc to a shortag© of seamen. The Lily registers 84 tons, and has> a cargo capacity of ICO tons. Her crow numbers five, comprising the captiiin, mate, cook, and two seamen. THE PICTURES. The drama, "Satau Sandereon," was repeated last evening at the Harbour Light Picture Theatre. To-day's ' programme includes a Paramount servico film, starring Fannie Ward, entitled "Her Strange Wed° ding," also a comedy, cartoon, and a picture from the travel series. A LONG TEACHING RECORD. After fifty years'" experience as a tcacher in secular schools, Mr E. U. Just, headmaster of the Lyttelton District High School, is retiring this month from the teaching profession. Mr Just followed his occupation as teacher on the West Coast and at Eaßt Christchurch, and at an earlier period in A ictoria. The Mayor of Lyttelton lias- called a public meeting of residents and ex-pupils for tho purpose of considering the best means of showing tho borough's appreciation of Mr Just s valuable services as headmaster of the school during the past 28 years
