WAIMAKARIRI HARBOUR BOARD.
• The monthly meeting of the "Waimakariri Harbour Board was held last night. Present: Messrs W. Doubleday (chairman), L. B. Evans, K. Mcintosh, T. Keatley, L. Edmonds, ,r. \V. Barnard, and J. H. Reay. An in- > ritation was received from the Mayor of Christchurch to attend a meeting with the object of forming a league . for the advancement of Canterbury. It was decided to accept the invita-! tion, and the chairman and Mr Wright were appointed to represent the harbour Board. The harbourmaster reported that the approximate depth of water on the bar was 7ft 6in. to heavy easterly seas during the month, the bar was wide and shallow The river below Kairaki showed 3ft 6in »at low water, and the soundings wen?: about the same at the nail It was decided to extend the time tor receiving tenders for the lease of the Board's property m Charles street till the nest meeting of the Boarri and to inspect the premises to-nignL [
