OPERA HOUSE
The excellent vaudeville programme now running at the Opera House attracted a crowd on Saturday night too large for the building to Hcconimrdato. ]t was dca.rlv evident that the exceptional merit of many of tho turns was fully appreciated hy the audienco. v.-ho in several ca. ; es were most enthusiastic in their plaudits. Kelly and 3>rakc, an American duo, who made their first appearance, in a few minuter "won their war into popular favour, and their offering ivas thoroughly enjoyed. The male member of the duo gave evidence of being an excellent comedian and a firstr class eccentric dancer. The turn of the other American pair—Denny and Dunnigan—was one of tho cleverest and most enjoyable items on the programme. It is easily one of tho smartest sketch©* of the kind seon on the Fuller circuit for ,-oir.c time past. Colos, the local banjo expert, met with a flattaring reception on his reappearance for a short season. r lhe Trio Classiciue again provided >'t musical fea.st. Tho programme, which, will be repeated throughout this week, takes a high place as an example of allround high-class vaudeville. CHARLES CHAPLIN AT THE GRAND. Charles Chaplin will be seen in his latest comedy, "The Cure," at the Grand Theatre all tliis week. In ' ; Tho Cure," the inimitable Chaplin introduces many new stunts, and. his remarkable aiyVcs in the sanatorium keep his audicnce in a continuous roar bf merriment. Another picture which should prove popular is tho charming Metro production "Aladdin's Other I>amp," featuring little Viola Dana as "Patsy Smith," a little drudge in "The Fisherman's llest" boardinghouse. Another enthralling chapter of the "Mysteries of Myra" will also be shown. Tho hours of screening the various film? arc advertised elsewhere in this issite. "THE DAUGHTER OF THE GODS." "The Daughter of the Gods" will be screened at the Harbour Light Pictures, Lyttelton, on tho I2th inst., and at the Grand Pictures, Kaiapoi, on the 13th inst.
