ANNUAL CONFERENCE. (press association telegram.) DUNEDIN, March 1. Pile Methodist Conference to-day appointed a Standing Committer.. Tho clergy are already known, and the following laymen were elected .—Auckland, Messrs T. W. Jones and J. Veale ; South Auckland, Messrs G. H. Gilling and W. Richards; Taranaki andWanganui, Messrs C. Bollrmger and E Dixon; Hawke's Bay and Manawatu,' Messrs W. ii, Johnston and F. GuvWellington, Alessrs S. Martin and w! > Neison, Messrs L. White and . ,;y al ; ren iNorth Canterbury, Messrs

Smith. iiio Conference adopted the following order of circuits in taking married "n----stead of single ministers: —Manaia, Invercargill (Teviot street), Rotorua, iauranga. It was decided to relieve the following circuits for another year from tho responsibility of taking a married instead of a single minister:—Auckland East, Otahuhu, Paeroa, Opotiki, St. Albans, Timaru.
The Rev. Mr Chapman was appointed to Taranaki street, Wellington, for the oighth year, and the Rev. Mr Boys to Palmerston North for the sixth year. Tho Rev. Mr Suckling was transferred to the New Soutii Wales ferenco for missionary work. It was understood that he would be appointed •lo Fiji.
The resignation of the Rev. Mr Daniels, who lias taken up Y.M.C.A. secretarial work, was accepted. Tho President's action in permitting tho Revs. Gosnell and Sim to go abroad as Y.M.C.A. secretaries was approved.
Tho Rev. Mr Wilson was transferred to tho New South Wales Conference.
It w.-is decided to request that tno Rov. Mr Poole, of Fiji, bo. transferred to the New Zealand Conference in 1919. The Rov. Mr Costain was granted permission to enlist. The following ministers were pormitted to bcconie permanent supernumaries:—Revs. IJaumbcr, Hudson, Blight, and Griffin. Tho Rev. Mr Marshall was allowed to
continuo as supernumerary for another year. . Tlie following wore received as probationers: —Messrs Wallace ?Ncal, John Parker, and Thomas Skuse.
