Tho official opening, of tho new Lyttclton Municipal quarry, on Cornwall rood, will take place this arteruoon at 3 o'clock, under the auspices of tho Lyitelton Borough Council. An address on tho importance of the quarry as a factor in maintaining good roads in the borough at a seasonable cost, and on the development and possibilities of the quarry will be delivered by Mr J, T. . Norton, chairman of tho Works Committee. After tho opening ceremony has been performed the visitors will lie invited to inspect tho quarry, works etc., and later, mj partake of afternoon tea. ° THE PICTURES. ''Tho Poor Littlo Rich Girl," featuring Mary Pickford, was repeated last evening at the Harbour Light Picture Theatre. At to-day's sessions a thrilling Russian picture- i drama, entitled "The Angel of Mercy," .tho leading rolo in which is played by Aljfca Brady, and a good supportng programme, will be presented.
