BILLIARDS.
♦ A return match was played between members of the Returned Soldiers' Association a-Tid tramway employees, the result being a win for the latter by six gomes to four. Following were the scores, Returned Soldieia being mentioned first in each ease: — J. Darbey 100 beat Thomas 97 ; Stammers 100, Slada 89; Ruck 100, Baker 98; Green 100, Smith 95j Gee 67, Kvans 100; Fouikes 98, Manning 100; Mjorris 50. Brown 100; Burnside 75, Chappell 100; Blackwood 44, Winthrop 100; Burns 77, Tiilyehort 100. _ Aitor the game the winners entertained the visitors at supper. Market Bosworth, where the battle of Bosworth was fought in 1485, has "been purchased by a Leicester syndicate. Many' interesting traditions tions are connected with the district. The well from which King Richard HI. quenched his thirst is shown. The parish church has a thirteenth century font, and Dr. Johnson is said to have been educated in the Grammar School, which still exists. •There is a Desert Football League now, and its "season" is in full swing (says a correspondent in the London "Daily News"). There is also a Sinai team —I regret to say at the bottom of the list. In towns with quite famous Biblical names yon can hear now shouts of "Well played I" and "Off-side!" I wonder what the Jebnsites and the Perezzites, the Hivites and the Hittites, and the Amorites would think of it all, if they could hear it.
