Club secretaries are reminded that entries for the Champion of Champion, events close with the centre secretary on Thursday. * * • » * The Opawa Club's Champion Rinks resulted in a win for Wilson, Gwatkin, "West, and E. W. Taylor (s). In the Champion Doubles, Gwatkin and Taylor on Saturday beat Wost and Goldstone, and later beat Cragg and Steans, and will be tho club's representatives in the championship tournament. In tho President's Rinlcs H. A. Bruce met Prisk. The first named went off with a run. the board at one stage showing 11 to 1 in liis favour. Prisk then scored three sixes and a five, and won with some points to spare. * ¥■ * * * The Edgeware Champion Rink final was played on Friday night, when Bennington, Wallace, Bowen, and Herd (s) beat the winners of No. 2 Section— Queeree, Grant, Price, and Gagliardi (s) —by 26 to 19. * • * # • The Edgeware green hag been giving members somo concern of Hate, .but Mr J. Beanland lias again taken the position of supervisor with very good results. The Sydenham Champion Rinks has been won by Daffy, Edwards, Chegwin, and J. Scott (s) with 6 wins and 1 loss. W. Calvert's rink had 5 wins and 2 losses. In the sectional ties of tho Champion Doubles Poarce and Garth beat Blackmoro and Jack, and Turnbull and Spiller beat Black-more and Jack. * * * ♦ * P. Dobbs's rink will represent St. Albans in the Champion or Champion Competition. In the Champion Doubles, Shaw and Thompson and Oakey and; Wilson play off.
R. Howarth. won the Linwood Club's Champioii Rink event. Burson and Cooper meet Healey and Howartli in tlio iinai of the Champion Doubles.
« « » • • On the United green, last evening, Ellis and Alpe, who Lave withstood several challenges for the Alston Doubles, went under to "Wright and Thompson, the score being 13 to 12 in favour of the latter.
The Colts' Handicap Singles, in connexion with the Asiiburtou Bowling Club, was won by H. 0. Amos. The final was played between Amos and McDonald, wiiicli was decided on the best of three _ games. Amos won the first game easily, and McDonald the second. In the final game Amos played well, and soon gained an advantage, which he kept to the finish, by 7 up. In the Championship Singles Lane has to beat Templeton twice to win.
The Rangiora Club got off several competitions last week, lifiord's rink comploted their games for 5 wins and 1 loss. Sinclair's rink have won three games and lost one, and have two games •o play. In the Doubles, Crossweil and Ereord have 7 wins, and McKenzie and Jennings <3 vrius and 1 loss. For the ■singles, W. iifford has, so far, 8 wins to his credit and no losses. F. B. Cresswell is a good second with 6 wins and 2 losses.
Mr T. R. Crcsswell, senior inspector of secondary schools, who still retains his membersnip of xlio Rangiora Club, visited the green on Saturday and skipped a rink in a friendly game. ■,
The Lmted Club's Champion Doubles nave reached tho final stage. Tosswill and Fraser (s) beat Swaaoiv and McKenzie (s), and won their section without- a loss. A. Oliver and J. Brackenridge (s) also won all their games, and; the final between Fraser and Brackenridge will be played this week. In the Champion Singles, Section A, J. Broun. Atkinson, and Tosswill each have one loss. Atkinson has to play J Broun and Tosswiil. Tosswill also plays McKenzie. In .Section B, F. McCuliougli has no losses and two to play, and should win. In Section C, Dr. S.mdston beat Woolf, thus bringing thes.: two and Brackenridge level, witu one loss each. Sandston plays Brackenridge in his last game, and Woolf plays Garrigan, so that the finish should be interesting. In Section D, W. Fraser lost to Suttee and beat Dallcy, and has one loss and one to play.' W. Suttee has cne loss and two to play. The Champion liinks were finished last Decembor, the winners being A. Oliver, F. Brown, Brackenridge, and J. Brown jun. (s).
