PACIFIC COPRA TRADE.
The first of the auxiliary schooners ordered in America by Burns, Philp and Co., of Sydney, has been launched and named. She wa> constructed by W. F. Stone, at Oakland, California, and is of 253 tons, the principa dimensions being:—Length, 109 ft; breadth 27ft 7in; and depth, 10ft 6in. According tc the records supplied to Lloyd's Register ol Shipping, the auxiliary power is, supplied by a gas engine. The port of registry i; Suva. A vessel of a similar type is being built in Sydney for the same firm. As ea:h one is completed she will be put into the copra trade in the Pacific.
