' Captain Crotly, lete mate of the. Kapuni,. has taken command of the Huia, succeeding tbe lato Captain Steve Thoms. The Te Anau is expected to arrive here to-day with alieep from Napier. After discharging at Lyttelton the vessel will return to Napier for another load of sheep for this port. The coastal steamer Invercargill arrived here from the North yesterday, and upon completing her discharge of general cargo, will bo docked to-day for cleaning and painting. It is announced in the "Gazette" that Oaptain Hall-Thompson has been authorised to take possession of or to cause all apparatus for wireless telegraphy oil board any merchant ship (being a foreign merchant chip or a British merchant fliip not registered in New ZeaJand), while in the territorial waters of New Zealand, or ajiy part ai such apparatus, to-be taken possession oi in tlie name and on behalf of his Majesty for his Majesty's service, and, subject thereto, for such ordinary services a« Captain HallThompson may deem fit.
