DOUBLE MURDER.
* DEATH SENTENCE IMPOSED. (By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright.} MELBOURNE, February -23. Oldrinf lias been sentenced to death for the double murder at Trawool io November. A cable from Melbourne on November 27th, ]917, stated: A mysterious tragedy occurred ut Trawool on November 10th. A cabman drove Mrs Taylor and her 12-year-old step-daugh-ter to Trawool, where the wohian stated she was going to nurse her cister. Subsequently their bodies, wit.t the heads smashed in, were found in the Goulburn river. The sum of £152 was sown into the woman's underclothing A photograph of a soldiir, Arthur Oidring. was discovered amongst the woman's belongings. He was recognised as a man missing from Sevmour Camp. Ho had been seen in the vicinity of the tragedy. Oldring has been arrested. As a sequel to the Trawool tragedy. Mrs Jessie Brown, » sister of Olflring, poisoned herself and died in hospital.
