——♦ WAR FUND APPEAL. The Salvation Anny "War Fund Committee mot last night. Mr J. J. Dougall wao elected chairman. The meeting was called to make arrangements in connexion with the forthcoming Salvation Army War Fund appeal. Mr A. S. He thought, however, that if some wounded soldiers wero eent to the country to ask the farmers to help with the drive, that the appeal would be crowned with greater success. Anything that was done should be done at once. Mr C. W. Green, secretary of the Returned Soldiers' Association, said that, in response to a letter from the committee, he had secured the services of two soldiers to mako the appeal, and more to assist with droving at the time of the drivo. Mr Brown suggested that someone who well known should make the appeal to the farmers, and that the chairman should visit the various eheep and cattle fairs and put the matter before them. Mr McCallum said that he thought that Mr Dougall ehould be accompanied by eome returned soldiers. Mr Green said that the Returned Soldiers' Association would do all in its power to help the committee.
