New Zealand. Lieut. E. G. Bri.-tcd (Clinstchurch), who was recently granted his commission, is still iu tho Canterbury Battalion. He was up in London on a fow days' loave, and is now back at Sling. Lieut. E. X. Aimit (Wellington) crossed to France this week to join his battalion of the Australian Infantry. Lieut. H. 'I'. B. Drew and Lieut. F. G..Matthews (both of Wellington), who came with recent reinforcements, were in London for a few duys prior to crossing to France. _ . Captain R. 13. Neill, Royal Irish 1 usiliers. Reserve of Oliicers (Duuedin —son of Mr P. C. Nciil), is to have the rank of Major while serving on Headquarters of a Battalion.
T. Ogiivic-Grant of Grant, Baron Strathspey (Wellington). has 11 com mission in tho Army Scrvico Corps. Commander V. !-/• A. Campbell, D.vS.O.. has been reinstated on the active list as Commander, in recognition of his distinguished services during the v/isr. He also lias a bar to his D.S.O. Commander Victor Lindsay Arbutlinot Campbell, D.5.0., Ji.N., received his decoration in Juno, 1910. and he lias now boon awarded a bar for subsequent acts of gallantry. Commander Campbell was a member cf the Scott Antarctic expedition. Captain 15. R. G. K. Lvans, C.8., T>.S.O., 11. N., hns had the Croix de Guerre conferred upon him by tho French President. Major D. C. O'Rorke, Km-'s Royal Riflo Corps, lias tho Military Cross, for taking command of another company m addition to his own, and handling a clifficr.lt position with tho greatest skill. Ho set a fine example to his men. Ho has just been promoted Major, at tho early age of -L. having Been much service since the outbreak of the war, ior 110 was in France by the end of 1914. He was wounded in tho early days, and he has twico been gassed. He comes from Auckland, and is a son of Air i,. V. O'JRorkc. ■ , . Sergeant P. K. Martyn, Lancashiro Fusiliers, comes from Oamaru. In America on the declaration of war, he came to England and joined up, and has seen fifteen months' servicc in l'.gynt. and France. Ho recently met with an accident, and is now a patient at Knighton House Hospital, J2ringtoi», near Leicester. Captain T. Tettoy, N.Z.M-C. (Ashburton) and Captain P. A. Ardagh, N.Z.M.C. (Christehureh), are on duty here. Tho former is at Walton Hospital ; the latter is medical officer at the New Zealand .Soldiers' Club, m Ilussel square, and is attached to tho New Zealand Medical Headquarters. 31 r E. .i-:. Booth, Australian representative of the Y.M.C.A. (an international footballer of No\y Zealand and Australia, and one of the famed "All Black'' team) is now over in France, at tho huge Australian Base, still in the interests of the Australian Y.M.C.A. Mr Booth, has been specially relegated to take chargc of sports, and he lias just leased some ground from Frenchman, so that tliLs r.itMi on servico \yill have cricket, baseball, and a boxing stadium going very shortly. A New Zealand camp is bomg started closo by. The name of 2nd Lieut. "W. Mouldcy, Xf.iiicashirc Fusiliers, appears in tho list of wounded. Ho is the son of Mr E. C. Mouldey, of Canterbury. Sergeant-Major A. J. Kidler, N.Z.F.A., has boon appointed Superintendent Clerk at tho New Zealand Military Headquarters, in place of SergeantMajor Millington. who is returning to New Zealand, having been discharged on account of cyo trouble. SergeantMajor Ilidlor (Wellington) left Now Zealand with tho 2nd Reinforcements, saw service in GaJlipoli, and has been at Hornchurcli for the past year. Juno 29.

Chaytor is granted the temporary rank of Major-General whilo commanding the Australian and Xew Zealand Mounted Division, to which he has been appointed in succession to Major-General Chauvel. Lieut. Colonel W. Meldrum, V/.M.R.,_siicce»:ds to the command of the X.Z.M.R. Tre vacancv in tho command of the Ist New* Zealand Infantry Brigade, caused by the death m action or Brigadier-General C. H. J.
