The many in New Zealand who have an acquaintance with Apia, Samoa, will be interested to learn that the Tivoli Hotel there was totally destroyed by fire- on March 18th. 'J'ne lire wa.s discovered by Private Iviiftin. of Victoria, all ''Anzuc,'' who was staving at tho hotel, but «-> he was a .stranger to the plaec lie coukl not locate tho handgrenades. The natives, with a posac of soldiers under Lieut. Wollcrmann, succeded in saving the church next door after a big light. '1 ho natives especially (says the local paper) strove wjth frantic eneigy. There was something touching in the grave concern they exhibited at the prospect, of losing their beloved place of worship. "Save the church.' - Seumanutafa. the high chief, exclaimed: "V.'e mu<-t save the church if we iose our lives!"
