Tho Champion Stakes, for thrce-jrcar-olds, -which hag been the subject of much discussion during the past few months, is likely 'to produce an interesting and stirring contest. The prominent showing' of Pctor Man and Trix Pointer in tho Introductory Handicap on tlio first day, entitles them to every respcct. The same remarks must bo applied to Acushla Machrco for her fine effort in the Wilkin Handicap. To leave two miles behind in saddle in4min 40 2-sth sec stamps the daughter of Prince Imperial as a: high-class pacer. Birdwood has not been given the best of chances to produco his reccnt track form, but the flying start will now give the Wildwcod Jun. colt every opportunity to do his best.
