Turner, who has been for some time in a hospital in France, has now fully recovered and been transferred to tho Base Depot, France. Corporal Turner is well known in shooting circles, being a member of the _Chnstchurch Rifle Club. Ho left with the Main Body, and has seen much active servicc.

A creditable record in the cause of the Empire is that of the family of the late Colonel E. J. Sommerville, of Wanganui, and of Mrs Sommerville, now of Glen road, Stanley Bay, Auckland, whoso five sons have either taken, ■or are about to take, active part in tho war. The eldest son. Captain C. L. Sommerville, wounded, saw service in the Boer \Var, in which he was wounded and twicc mentioned in despatches. He is now serving in. Egypt with the Mounted Rifles. Major J. A. Sommerville, who also is serving in Egypt, was wounded at Romani, but has since rejoined his regiment. Trooper Stanley Sommerville was killed at Gallipoli in August, 1915. Two more brothers arc in training, and are to leave New Zealand shortly.
