NAVY LEAGUE.
MEETING OP COMMITTEE. The General Committee of tho STavy league met last night, Mr A. Boylo presiding- over a good attendance Tho Chairman welcomed tho now members of tho committee—Mrs Wilson, Mr H. Holland, aud Dr. Mickle. It was decided to authorieo tho payment of tho amount, i"7O 6s fid, duo to tho Navy Leagtio, London. Arising out of recommendations from' the nnrrual meeting, it was dofcided, on tho motion of Mr C. E. Bevan-Brown, Ecconded by Colonel Hobday, that a circular be issued utoting that, owing to tho incrcasod coat of the "Navy League Journal," duo to war conditions, the League was reluctantly compelled to notify members that only those who eubsoribo 10s per annum will bo supplied with copies of the "Journal." Tho Christchurch Gleo and Madrigal Society wrote statins' that it was intended to renew its efforts to asahrf; in /raising funds to augment local wur funds. It was decided to grant the Lcaguo'a pntronago to the society's patriotic entertainment®. The Rev. IS. Eliot Chumbers reported on his rocent visit to Akaroa, and stated that 3. school branch would b? established at tho High School. An enthusiastic meeting was held at Duvauchelle. Thirteen now members had been enrolled. The collections I and subscriptions exceeded expenses 1 by £8 13s. A vote of thanks was accorded Mr Chambers Jtud all who had assisted.
