(1) The Empire Defence Fund, for the purchase of horses and materialfor the Expeditionary Force. (2) The Countess of Liverpool's (Women's) Fund, for the furnishing of comforts for the men.
(3) The Canterbury Patriotic Fund (the Mayor's' Fund) to make provision for the dependents of those who go to the. war. .
