In the House.of Representatives this evening, the Hon. James Allen' moved the second reading of. the War Contributions Validation.-Bill, explaining that it did not validate any payment not made to the War Fund. • '
As a matter of urgency, tho Bill was put through all its stages.
The Hon. A. L. Herdman moved the second reading, of the.-.Trusted Act Amendment Bill, validating the payment _by trustees of trust funds into building societies, .eavings .banks, municipal corporations, investment companies, or public companies, while a stato of war existed in" New Zealand, and for six monihs thereafter. ,'
Sir Joseph Ward said he believed the Bill was necessary , in "the present crisis, and as a matter of urgency, it,was passed through all stages without amendment. '
The, Prime Minister then announced that he did hot intend to ask the Hoose to go on with other business.
At 8.45 p.m. ho moved that."the House adjourn until Wednesday, 26th inst., at 7.30, and this was agreed to. The Legislative Council passed the War Contributions Validation Bill and Trustee Act Amendment Bill without alteration, and then adjourned, until Wednesday, 26th inst..
