ASHBURTON
There was a crowded congregation at St Stephen's Church. Ashburton, on Sunday night, when the final festival service in connexion with the opening of the new pipe organ was held. At tho conclusion of the servico the Rev. J. R. Burgin addressed tho congregation from the chancel steps, and expressed his heartfelt thanks for the very generous response which had been made to ■his appeal for funds to com-pk-t© tho payment for tho organ. Seven festival services had been held during Thursday, Friday, and Sunday, and the collections had amounted to a total of £125. and now only about £60 or £70 would he required to complete tho payment of tho total cost of the organ," which amounted to nearly £800.
